WEEK 5: DESIGN HYDROELECTRIC PROTOTYPE


Objectives: 
  • To build an proper hydroelectric prototype.
  • To build a device that can convert the mechanical flow energy (water) into usable electric energy.
  • To make an enclose, since the hydroelectric use a turbine, act to prevent a water leakage.
Content / Procedure: 
  • Make a research about suitable material like PVC, aquarium, metal and so on.
  • Done a cost analysis towards suitable material.
  • Make an early design by using an AUTOCAD software to visualize the prototype.
  • Make an early survey while buying the material.
Result and Analysis:
  • I'm begin to considering a suitable frame towards this mater.
  • I'm decided to work with something easy to deal with, strong and light as possible. The material should be a non - conductor. 
  • This leads mine to choose a PVC pipe and plastic aquarium, while the turbine and shaft part will be hold by it's shaft installed on the metal frame.  
  • The early design using an AUTOCAD software are been done, and the design is  was shown below:

  • As the PVC pipe is non - conductor which will greatly prevent any electric shock dangers while i work in the wet environment such as bathroom, toilet and so on.
  • The cost also is considerably affordable and not too high.
  • This is an early design, an any modification towards the hydroelectric prototype are been a analysed during troubleshooting.

Conclusions
  • I'm getting a final listing for prototype component.
  • The prototype design must be done according the specification in order to achieve an great performance.
  • This part is essential; have many benefit towards the project, such as safety precaution, prevent water leakage, made a features and so on.
