Objectives:
- To prove an inverter performance.
- To analyse the right output inverter circuit.
- To Check a misconduct (mistake) while doing early inverter circuit.
Content / Procedure:
- Make a research about inverter calculation.
- Make an analysis for basic inverter circuit
- Consider any losses during inverter operation.
- Try to collect information about inverter circuit before started calculating.
Result and Analysis:
- The power output rating of the inverter chosen (in VA or n Watts is directly dependant on the load that will be powering.
- It is absolutely critical that a selection of inverter which is powerful enough to operate my specific loads.
- The first step is to calculate the total Watts or Amps of all appliances that plan to power.
- The second step is to determine the characteristic of my load. AC loads generally fall into two categories: Electronic loads and motors.
1. Fly Back Inverter Topology:
Input Current Motor = (Assumed Motor Efficiency/100) x Max. Current Alternator.
= (50 / 100) x 40
= 20 A (Max. current that can be produced by alternator)
Input Power Motor = Input Current From Motor x Input Voltage From Motor
= 20 A x 12 V
= 240 W
2. Output Current From Inverter:
Output Current = Desired Power / Desired DC Voltage
= 1000 W / 240 V
= 4.17 A
3. I Peak (in)
I peak = I in / Duty Cycle
= 20 / 0.53
= 37.7 A
4. I Peak (out)
I Peak = I out / Duty Cycle
= 4.17 / 0.53
= 7.87 A
5. System Efficiency
Inverter Efficiency = (Pout/Pin) x 100
= (240 / 1000) x 100
= 24% ; 100% - 24% = 76%
