- To find a problem of hydroelectric prototype.
- To analyse the prototype performance.
- To solve a problem occur within time limit.
Content / Procedure:
- Make a component test towards such as alternator, battery and rotation of the turbine.
- Ensure the right configuration has been done.
- Do a component test. Check the rotation of the turbine and the alternator shaft using tachometer.
- To identify the problem by doing a research, ask a supervisor and get a consult from wireman.
Result and Analysis:
- I'm done a test about alternator part and found another problem that need to be solve quickly. This is involved about alternator also.
- The rotation of the turbine shaft was not fast enough to achieve a standard speed of alternator in order to produce a voltage.
- The car alternator needed at least 1600 rotation per minute to produce an approximately 12 V voltage. The battery must always connected to give an excitation voltage towards alternator.
- This problem has been solved by done a little modification towards prototype design by instaling a pulley system in order to make a fast rotation. The hydroelectric prototype before and after modification are been shown below.
- As we see above, i made some modification towards hydroelectric prototype. In the early mounting, the design has already finish and been test, but some problems occur and need to be solve.
- The modification involve is the figure of the turbine, make a pulley system, stand, and mounting to increase the rotation of alternator shaft ( into 1600 rpm) and make it more attractive.
- The bearing shaft also has been modified in order to reduce a resonance during the rotation.
